Confirm the photo, name, and date of birth match the customer.</li>\n<li>Record the customer's full legal name, date of birth, address, and ID number in the transaction record.</li>\n<li>Collect the customer's right thumbprint on the face of the instrument or on a thumbprint card.</li>\n<li>Make a legible copy of the photo ID and retain it with the transaction record.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>If a customer cannot present acceptable photo ID for a transaction over $1,000, do not complete the transaction. No alternative — including calling an employer or checking prior records — replaces the required photo ID.</p>\n<p>Before completing any transaction, screen the customer's name against the OFAC Specially Designated Nationals list and any other required government lists. Do this before processing, regardless of transaction amount.</p>\n<p>For corporate check presentments, complete all of the following:</p>\n<ol>\n<li>Collect personal ID from the presenting individual as described above.</li>\n<li>Record the business's legal name, jurisdiction of organization, and principal business address.</li>\n<li>For payroll checks, verify the employer against the workers' compensation policy on file.</li>\n<li>Record the presenter's relationship to the business — their officer title, employee status, or that an authorization letter is on file.</li>\n<li>Screen both the individual's name and the business name against OFAC before completing the transaction.</li>\n</ol>",
